Detection of the SARS-CoV-2 S gene variants by Real Time PCR (B.1.1.7 Alpha, B.1.351 Beta, B.1.1.28 P.1 Gamma and strains B.1.671.1/2 Delta/Kappa)

COVID-19 Ultra Variant Catcher is a qualitative test that allows the detection, by means of Real Time PCR, of the spike protein (S gene) mutations L452R (Delta/Kappa), E484K (Beta/Gamma), E484Q (Kappa) and N501Y (Alpha/Beta/Gamma) linked to several Variants of Concern (VOC) and Variants of Interest (VOI) of SARS-CoV-2 virus.
The COVID-19 Ultra Variant Catcher kit must be used with a RNA extracted from samples tested as positive for SARS-CoV-2 virus with the current validated methods on the market.
The Procedure allows the detection of the RNA target by means of a reverse-amplification reaction in reaction tubes or microplate wells.
The analysis of the results is performed by means of a Real Time PCR analyzer instrument (thermal cycler integrated with a system for fluorescence detection).
