Antigen Long Description: Human thymocytes followed by peripheral blood mononuclear cells.

Buffer Composition: PBS with 0.02% Proclin 300.

Chimeric Use Statement: This chimeric rabbit antibody was made using the variable domain sequences of the original Mouse IgG2a format, for improved compatibility with existing reagents, assays and techniques.

Available Custom Conjugation Options: AP, HRP, Fluorescein, APC, PE, Biotin Type A, Biotin Type B, Streptavidin, FluoroProbes 647H, Atto488, APC/Cy7, PE/Cy7

Uniprot Accession No.: P08571

Specificity Statement: This antibody is specific for human CD14, which is expressed strongly by macrophages and most tissue monocytes. It cross-reacts with non-human primate and pig CD14.

Application Notes (Clone): This antibody has been used to specifically stain monocytes and macrophages in cryostat sections of large cell lymphoma using an indirect immunoperoxidase technique (Addis et al, 1986) and cryostat lymph node sections (Salisbury et al, 1985). It has also been used to stain acetone-fixed cytocentrifuge preparations of a cell line derived from a patient with Hodgkin's disease (Jones et al, 1985). This antibody has been employed in an immunofluorescence analysis to assess CD14 expression in porcine epithelial cells (Liu et al, 2001), and in indirect immunofluorescence staining of cryostat thymus sections (Marinova et al, 2008). This antibody has also been used in Western blotting, and to deplete soluble CD14 from human sera through an immunoadsorption method (Shimizu et al, 2004).
