Antigen Long Description: This antibody was raised by immunising CBA mice with xenogeneic rat thymocytes, which express the Thy-1.1 antigen.

Specificity Statement: This antibody binds murine and rat CD90. While CD90 is a monomorphic determinant in rats, CD90 is polymorphic in mice. As a result, this antibody reacts with Thy1.1-expressing mice, including AKR and FVB mice, but not Thy1.2-expressing mice, such as CBA and BALB/c.
Application Notes (Clone): This antibody has been used in indirect immunofluorescence analysis of Thy-1 antigen expression in both methanol-fixed and living cell cultures (Dulbecco et al, 1979; Hasthorpe, 1980). This antibody has also been used, in conjunction with rabbit complement, to deplete Thy1-expressing fibroblasts from serum samples through complement-mediated lysis (Mahanthappa et al, 1996).
