CloneID: A5

Antigen Long Description: The A5 clone was originally identified as a scFv by selecting the Griffin phage display library against recombinant ectodomain of Gc (rGc, from Hantaan virus strain 76–118).

Buffer Composition: PBS with 0.02% Proclin 300.

Chimeric Use Statement: This full-length, chimeric mouse antibody was made using the variable domain sequences of the original Human scFv format, for improved compatibility with existing reagents, assays and techniques.

Available Custom Conjugation Options: AP, HRP, Fluorescein, APC, PE, Biotin Type A, Biotin Type B, Streptavidin, FluoroProbes 647H, Atto488, APC/Cy7, PE/Cy7

Specificity Statement: This antibody binds to and stabilizes the otherwise disordered tip of the Hc protein. As an scFv, this antibody forms a 1:1 complex with rGC, covering a large surface area with around 60% of contacts being made by the light chain.

Application Notes (Clone): This antibody binds to the envelope glycoprotein Gc of Hantaan virus, a member of the Bunyaviridae family of enveloped viruses. It is the causative agent of Korean Hemorrhagic Fever, or Hantavirus hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome, in humans. Despite a large interaction area, the Kd was reported in the micromolar range by SPR. Binding to rGc is reported to inhibit liposome binding.
