Transfection

The Principle of Nucleofector™ Technology:

By applying electrical pulses, small pores are generated short-term in the cell membrane. An interplay of preprogrammed Nucleofection protocols and coordinated reagents result in perfectly adapted conditions for a successful transfection for the particular cell type used. The substrate is not only taken up by the cytoplasm, but also by the nucleus due to the optimized conditions. This process allows high transfection rates with an efficiency of up to 99%.

We offer the following platforms:

  • For maximum flexibility: 4D Nucleofector (X, Y and LV units)
  • For medium-throughput: add-on 96-well shuttle
  • For high throughput: HT Nucleofector
  • The base unit: Nucleofector 2b

The Nucleofector kits contain special transfection cuvettes, Nucleofector reagents (buffer and supplement) and the control plasmid pmaxGFP. The buffer and its supplement are optimized specifically for respective primary cells.
