Encompassing Amino Acids: 24-97

Application: Useful for cell-based assays.

Assay Conditions: Full biological activity determined by a chemotaxis bioassay using human peripheral blood eosinophils.

Background: Eotaxin belongs to the platelet factor-4 family of chemokines. The gene symbol is SCYA11. The factor is being referred to also as Eotaxin-1 and has been renamed CCL11. Eotaxin induces substantial accumulation of eosinophils in the skin without significantly affecting the accumulation of neutrophils. Eotaxin is a potent stimulator of both guinea pig and human eosinophils in vitro. The Eotaxin receptor is a G-protein-coupled receptor selectively expressed in human eosinophils .

Biological Activity: Full biological activity is in a concentration range of 0.1-10.0 ng/ml.

Description: Recombinant human eotaxin-1 (CCL11), full-length of mature protein, encompassing amino acids 24-97. This construct is tag-free and was affinity purified.

Format: Lyophilized powder.

Formulation: Lyophilized from a 0.22 μm filtered solution of 20 mM PB, pH 7.4, and 150 mM NaCl.

Purity: ≥95% as determined by reducing SDS-PAGE.

Reconstitution: It is not recommended to reconstitute to a concentration less than 100 μg/ml in distilled water. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% BSA, 5% HSA, 10% FBS or 5% Trehalose).

Storage Stability: Stored at -20°C for 2 years from date of receipt. After reconstitution, it is stable at 4°C for 1 week or -20°C for longer (with carrier protein). It is recommended to freeze aliquots at -20°C or -80°C for extended storage.

Target: Eotaxin, Eotaxin-1

Uniprot: P51671

Warnings: Avoid freeze/thaw cycles.

Biosafety Level: Not applicable (BSL-1)
