Encompassing Amino Acids: 24-134

Application: Useful for cell-based assays.

Assay Conditions: The biological activity determined by a chemotaxis bioassay using Jurkat cells.

Background: Exodus-2, which is a member of the family of CC- Chemokines, has a unique 36 (murine) or 37 (human) amino acid carboxyl-terminal extension not seen in other chemokines. Exodus-2 selectively stimulates the chemotaxis of adult T-lymphocytes and is expressed preferentially in lymph node tissue. Exodus-2 is critical for adult T-cell adhesion to high endothelial venules in lymph nodes, a rate-limiting step for T-cell trafficking through nodal tissue.

Biological Activity: ED50 for is approximately 11.61 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity 8.613×104 U/mg.

Description: Recombinant human exodus-2 (CCL21), full length of mature protein, encompassing amino acids 24-134. This construct is tag-free and was affinity purified.

Format: Lyophilized powder.

Formulation: Lyophilized from a 0.22 μm filtered solution of 20 mM PB, 150 mM NaCl, and pH 7.4.

Purity: ≥95% as determined by reducing SDS-PAGE.

Reconstitution: It is not recommended to reconstitute to a concentration less than 100 μg/ml in distilled water. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% BSA, 5% HSA, 10% FBS or 5% Trehalose).

Storage Stability: Stored at -20°C for 2 years from date of receipt. After reconstitution, it is stable at 4°C for 1 week or -20°C for longer (with carrier protein). It is recommended to freeze aliquots at -20°C or -80°C for extended storage.

Target: Exodus-2

Uniprot: O00585

Warnings: Avoid freeze/thaw cycles.

Biosafety Level: Not applicable (BSL-1)
