Specificity: Anti-CD8 beta In Vivo Antibody - Ultra Low Endotoxin (53-5.8) recognizes an epitope on Mouse CD8b.2.

Purification method: This monoclonal antibody was purified using multi-step affinity chromatography methods such as Protein A or G depending on the species and isotype.

Antigen Distribution: The antibody 53-5.8 is specific for Ly-3.2 and has low reactivity with Ly-3.1 and is found on the majority of thymocytes, cytotoxic T cell subsets.

Background: CD8b is the 32 kD β chain of CD8, also known as Lyt-3.2 or Ly-3.2. It is a member of the Ig superfamily expressed as a heterodimer with the CD8A chain on a subset of MHC class I-restricted T cells and most thymocytes. CD8 is a co-receptor for the TCR complex involved in T cell activation.

Immunogen: Mouse thymus or spleen.

Concentration: 1.0 - 5.0 mg/ml.

Formulation: 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline (PBS) pH 7.4 and does not contain BSA or sodium azide as a preservative.

Purity: >98% by SDS-PAGE and HPLC.

Endotoxin: ≤ 0.75 EU/mg as determined by the LAL method.

Aggregation: Aggregation level ≤ 1%.
