Background: The antiserum is reacting with the Fab subunits IgG, IgA, IgM and other Ig classes of both light chain type, with their Fab or F(ab’)2 subunits and with free light chains of kappa and lambda type. It does not react with any non-Ig protein in guinea pig serum, as tested by immunoelectrophoresis and double radial immunodiffusion. In precipitating techniques as immunoelectrophoresis and single and double radial immunodiffusion (Mancini, Ouchterlony) to identify and measure immunoglobulins; as secondary antibody to precipitate the immunoglobulin in normal guinea pig serum.

Source: Purified Fab of normal IgG isolated from pooled guinea pig serum. Freund’s complete adjuvant is used in the first step of the immunization procedure.
