Background: This gene encodes a protein with similarity to a bovine microfibril-associated protein. The protein has binding specificities for both collagen and carbohydrate. It is thought to be an extracellular matrix protein which is involved in cell adhesion or intercellular interactions. The gene is located within the Smith-Magenis syndrome region. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2010]
Description: Recombinant human MFAP4 Protein with C-terminal 6×His tag
Molecular Weight: The protein has a predicted molecular mass of 27.3 kDa after removal of the signal peptide. The apparent molecular mass of MFAP4-His is approximately 35-55 kDa due to glycosylation.
Storage & Shipping: Store at -20°C to -80°C for 12 months in lyophilized form. After reconstitution, if not intended for use within a month, aliquot and store at -80°C (Avoid repeated freezing and thawing). Lyophilized proteins are shipped at ambient temperature.
