Clone Name: XMG1.2
Light Chain: Kappa
Product Description: The XMG1.2 antibody is specific for mouse Interferon-gamma (IFN-g), a 20 kDa type II cytokine known for its central roles in protection against bacterial or viral pathogens and for its anti-tumor properties. IFN-g is secreted by several types of immune cells which allow the cytokine to modulate innate immunity when secreted by NK and NKT cells, and to function in support of adaptive immunity when secreted by Th1 and CD8+ T cells (CTLs).
Calculated MW: 18
Form: Liquid
Buffer (with preservative): 10mM NaH₂PO₄ (pH7.2), 150mM NaCl, 0.1% Gelatin, 0.09% Sodium azide.
Concentration: 0.5 mg/ml (Please refer to the vial label for the specific concentration.)
Background: This gene encodes a soluble cytokine that is a member of the type II interferon class. The encoded protein is secreted by cells of both the innate and adaptive immune systems. The active protein is a homodimer that binds to the interferon gamma receptor which triggers a cellular response to viral and microbial infections. Mice deficient in this gene have increased susceptibility to viral, bacterial and parasitic infections and to several autoimmune diseases. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2015]
