Description: Neoliensinine, a benzylisoquinoline alkaloid, effectively inhibits the contraction of isolated mesenteric vascular smooth muscle (MVSM) induced by KCl (124 mM) with an IC50 value of 2.407 μM. It can be isolated from the embryos of the traditional Chinese medicine lotus seed (Nelumbo nucifera Gaertn.).
