Background: The antibody against PAX-5 is well suited for the detection of the protein in tissues and tissue extracts. The cellular localization is nuclear. PAX-5 is a B-cell-specific activator-protein (BSAP). In early phases of B-cell development PAX-5 affects the expression of B-cell specific genes that encode CD-markers like CD19 and CD20. PAX-5 is expressed in pro-, pre- and mature B-cells but not in plasma cells. Interestingly PAX-5 mRNA is found also in the mesencephalon und in the spinal cord during embryogenesis. The expression relocates then to the fetal liver and correlates with the beginning B-cell lymphopoiesis. This shows that PAX-5 is important for the B-cell development and possibly for correct development of the brain. Human PAX-5 protein, 50 kDa..

Immunogen: Synthetic Peptide of a C-terminal sequence of human PAX5 protein.

Purification Method: Immunogen-affinity purified rabbit IgG in PBS pH 7.3, 0.5% BSA, 0.09% sodium azide.

Concentration: 40 µg/ml.
