Uniprot Accession No.: P32970

Specificity Statement: This antibody binds human CD70, a cytokine belonging to the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) ligand family, which acts as a ligand for TNFRSF27/CD27. It is a surface antigen present on activated T and B cells. The CD70-CD27 pathway plays an important role in the generation and maintenance of T cell immunity, in particular during antiviral responses. Upon CD27 binding, induces the proliferation of costimulated T-cells and enhances the generation of cytolytic T-cells. This cytokine is also reported to play a role in regulating B-cell activation, cytotoxic function of natural killer cells, and immunoglobulin synthesis. CD70 is also identified as an emerging target in cancer immunotherapy.

Application Notes (Clone): This antibody block the binding of CD70 to CD21. This blocking effect was tested using the scFv version and it was reported that it was capable of blocking the binding of recombinant CD70-Fc to CD21 coated on ELISA plates. This antibody was also reported to have inhibitory effect on the growth of breast cancer cells in vitro. The in vivo inhibitory activity of this antibody was tested in mice infected with breast cancer cells MDA-MB-231. It was further reported that this antibody could inhibit tumor growth in vivo (CN109021106).
