Specificity Statement: The antibody is specific for CD8.

Application Notes (Clone): The antibody could block HLA-A2.1-mediated binding to CD8α(+) expressed on CHO cells (Norment et al, 1988; PMID: 3263576). The antibody could also block TLA-mediated binding (Teitell et al., 1991; PMID: 1834760). The antibody was used to localize CD8α to the cell periphery on monocytes using confocal microscopy of permeabilized PBMC. The antibody could detect CD8α by flow cytometry on CD14^hi monocytes from human peripheral blood (Gibbings et al. 2007; PMID: 17678538).
