Antigen Long Description: The original antibody was raised by immunizing a Balb/c mouse with horse cytochrome C.

Specificity Statement: This antibody is specific for horse cytochrome C. Trp59 and charged residues Lys60, Glu66 and Lys99 lie within the epitope of this antibody.

Application Notes (Clone): The structure of the original antibody was determined using x-ray crystallography (Mylvaganam et al., 1991; PMID:1656053, Mylvaganam et al., 1998; PMID:9698550). The original antibody was used for thermal titration calorimetry on cytochrome C to study the binding of this antibody (Murphy et al., 1995; PMID:7539913). The epitope of the original antibody was study by acetylation of lysine residues. Here it showed that lysine 99 and lysine 60 are important for the epitope of this antibody (Oertle et al., 1989; PMID:2473902). This antibody was used for an radioimmunoassay on horse cytochrome C (Cooper et al., 1987; PMID:2442150).
