CloneID: 25D2-9
Antigen Long Description: The original antibody was generated by immunizing Lewis rat with 1ml of human IL-4. The humanized version of the antibody was created later by grafting CDRs from the original rat antibody onto human framework regions.
Buffer Composition: PBS only.
Uniprot Accession No.: P05112
Specificity Statement: This antibody binds human IL-4. Interleukin-4 is a cytokine secreted primarily by mast cells, T-cells, eosinophils, and basophils that plays a role in regulating antibody production, hematopoiesis and inflammation, and the development of effector T-cell responses. It induces differentiation of naive helper T cells (Th0 cells) to Th2 cells. It also induces expression of class II MHC molecules on resting B-cells and enhances both secretion and cell surface expression of IgE and IgG1.
Application Notes (Clone): The binding characterization of this antibody for human IL-4 was done using ELISA. This antibody was also capable of inhibiting binding of radiolabeled hIL-4 to recombinant hIL-4 receptors expressed on the Jijoye CJ cell line. This antibody was also reported to inhibit induction of human growth hormone in the germline epsilon reporter assay (US5597710; US5863537).
