Antigen Long Description: Two llamas were immunized with a combination of killed vaccinia virus material and purified recombinant L1 antigen. A VHH library was then constructed and panned against killed vaccinia virus .

Specificity Statement: The antibody is specific for vaccinia virus. The antibody does not recognize the L1 antigen. Vaccinia virus is a large, complex, enveloped virus belonging to the poxvirus family.

Application Notes (Clone): The specificity of the original format of the antibody was confirmed by ELISA analysis. The antibody was assayed as both capture and tracer in MAGPIX bead-based sandwich assays for the detection of vaccinia virus and a limit of detection (LOD) of 4x10^5 pfu/ml was achieved (Walper et al., 2014; PMID: 25211488).
