Specificity Statement: This scFv binds specifically to the fibronectin type III repeats 1–2 of mouse L1 with a KD of around 2μM (determined by ELISA). It does not cross-react with human L1 in ELISAs, Western blots or immunofluorescence staining of cultured neurons. L1 plays important roles in cell adhesion, neuronal migration, neurite outgrowth, fasciculation and pathfinding, neuronal survival, and synaptic plasticity. L1 is not recongised under reducing conditions. L1 is a membrane glycoprotein of the immunoglobulin superfamily. Its interacts with adhesion molecules and proteins of the ECM. L1 also is inolved in the migration of cerebellar granule cells, enhancing neuronal survival and memory.
Application Notes (Clone): This scFv can stimulate neurite outgrowth from cerebellar dorsal, rootganglion and motor neurons and also be used to enhance survival of cerevellar neurons by facilitating the clustering of L1. H2 can also be used for ELISA, WB and IF studies.
