Antigen Long Description: The original antibody was isolated from the repertoire of the B-1a cell populations in the apoE deficient (apoE−/−) mice. Spleen cells from male apoE−/− mice at 21 weeks of age were fused with P3/U1 murine myeloma cells, and after screening based on specific binding to pyrBSA
Origin Pub PMID: 35031322
Buffer Composition: PBS only.
Specificity Statement: This antibody reacts specifically with pyrrolated protein and does not cross react with DNA. Lysine N-pyrrolation is a post translational modification, a unique covalent modification that converts lysine residues to Nε-pyrrole-L-lysine (pyrK). It imparts electronegative properties to proteins, causing them to mimic DNA and the proteins acquire an electrical conductivity via lysine N-pyrrolation.
Application Notes (Clone): This antibody is recommended for determination of pyrrolated proteins in a sample. The binding reactivity of this antibody towards pyrrolated-BSA protein was determined using ELISA. This antibody does no cross react with DNA in ELISA (PMID: 35031322).
