Uniprot Accession No.: P29723
Specificity Statement: This antibody can bind the TP47 protein of Treponema pallidum which is the causative agent for Syphilis. TP47 protein is a D,D-carboxypeptidase, that releases amino acids sequentially from a proteins C-terminus. Syphilis is a bacterial infection, transmitted through sexual contact and characterized by sores, grey warty growth and rashes on sexual organs, mouth, lips, hands and feet. Early stage Syphilis can be cured using penicillin. Without treatment Syphilis can cause damage to heart, brain or other organs and can sometimes even be life-threatening.
Application Notes (Clone): This antibody can be used for the qualitative detection of Treponema pallidum TP47 protein using western blot. This antibody can also be used for the detection of Tp47 protein using ELISA. This antibody was also used in the generation of immune chromatography colloidal gold test strip for detection of the membrane protein Tp47 of Treponema pallidum (CN110078822).
