Antigen Long Description: The original antibody was isolated from a non-immune semisynthetic llama library constructed from blood samples (6 ml) collected from the left jugular vein of three research naïve mature llamas.

Chimeric Use Statement: This chimeric rabbit antibody was made using the variable domain sequences of the original VHH format for improved compatibility with existing reagents assays and techniques.

Specificity Statement: This antibody is capable of detecting live vaccinia virus in a sample.

Application Notes (Clone): The binding specificity of this antibody towards vaccinia virus was checked using ELISA. It was reported that the original VHH antibody G retained ∼40% of its activity after heating for 40min decreasing to around 3% of original activity after 80min (PMID:17165813).
