Antigen Long Description: The phage display library expressing single-chain antibodies (scFv) was produced from a hybridoma cell line. The library was panned against VEE virus to select for specific scFvs.

Chimeric Use Statement: This full-length chimeric rabbit antibody was made using the variable domain sequences of the original Mouse scFv format for improved compatibility with existing reagents assays and techniques.
Specificity Statement: The antibody is specific for VEEV. The antibody detects the subtype I strains TC83, TRD, 3880, P676, subtype III strain Mucambo, and subtype V strain Cabassou. The antibody does not cross-react with BHK21, EEE (Eastern equine encephalitis), WEE (Western equine encephalitis), and SLE (St. Louis encephalitis).
Application Notes (Clone): The specificity of the original format of the antibody was confirmed by ELISA analysis (Duggan et al, 2001; pmid:11572636).
