CIQ does not alter the EC50 values for glutamate or glycine on channel opening. CIQ increases channel opening efficiency and enhances NMDA receptor responses. CIQ reduces associated behaviours in schizophrenia models and potentially enhances dopamine release in Parkinson's disease models.
