Applications: Useful for studying expression of NCAM1 on the cell surface by flow cytometry. For flow cytometric staining, the suggested use of this reagent is 5 µl (1 µg antibody) per million cells in 100 µl staining volume.
Assay Conditions: One million NCAM1 CHO cells (BPS Bioscience #78352) were blocked and stained with 1 µg of anti-NCAM1 antibody, FITC-labeled (BPS Bioscience #101865) for 30 minutes on ice, washed three times, and analyzed by flow cytometry. NCAM1 CHO cells (green) were compared to parental CHO-K1 cells (blue). Y-axis represents the cell count, while X-axis shows FITC intensity.
Background: NCAM1 (Neural cell adhesion molecule 1), also known as CD56 (Cluster of Differentiation 56), is a cell surface glycoprotein expressed typically in NK (Natural Killer) cells. Its level correlates with the cytotoxicity potential of the NK cells. Deficiencies in CD56+ immune cells have been associated with specific infections and autoimmune diseases. NCAM1 expression is altered in hematological malignancies, such as multiple myeloma and leukemia, and solid tumor cells from various tissue types. Studies of NCAM1 function and expression patterns will continue to broaden our knowledge and support possible applications in cancer therapy.
Cross Reactivity: This antibody recognizes human NCAM1. It has not been tested in other species.
Description: This anti-NCAM1 antibody is a purified recombinant antibody, which is labeled with fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC). This antibody has been tested by flow cytometry for specific binding to human NCAM1 on the surface of NCAM1 CHO Recombinant Cell Line (BPS Bioscience #78352).
Format: Aqueous buffer solution.
Formulation: 8 mM Phosphate, pH 7.4, 110 mM NaCl, 2.2 mM KCl, 0.09% Sodium Azide, 0.2% BSA, and up to 20% glycerol. May contain a protein stabilizer.
Host Cell Line: HEK293
Purification: Protein A affinity chromatography from HEK293 supernatant.
Purity: ≥90%
Storage Stability: At least 6 months at 4°C. Protect from prolonged exposure to light. DO NOT FREEZE. The antibody solution should be stored undiluted between 2°C and 8°C.
