Background: PACSIN3 (protein kinase C and casein kinase substrate in neurons protein 3) is a member of the PACSIN family, a group of adaptor protein that regulate vesicle trafficking via cytoskeletal alterations. PACSIN3 is primarily expressed in skeletal muscle and heart and has been shown to be specifically involved in the trafficking of GLUT 1 in adipocytes.
