CloneID: AbAb-Aztreo
Antigen Long Description: The original antibody was generated by immunizing Lama glama with aztreonam conjugated with human serum albumin. The peripheral blood lymphocytes of the llama were used to generate a VHH library and the specific antibody was selected by panning the library against aztreonam-KLH conjugate.
Origin Pub PMID: 34931798
Buffer Composition: PBS with 0.02% Proclin 300.
Chimeric Use Statement: This is a chimeric antibody, developed from the original camelid VHH antibody, specifically engineered for enhanced compatibility with existing reagents, assays, and techniques.
Available Custom Conjugation Options: AP, HRP, Fluorescein, APC, PE, Biotin Type A, Biotin Type B, Streptavidin, FluoroProbes 647H, Atto488, APC/Cy7, PE/Cy7
Specificity Statement: This antibody shows reactivity against aztreonam, a synthetic monobactam antibiotic, which is similar to aminoglycosides, it is active mostly against gram-negative, aerobic bacteria. Aztreonam has been used for the treatment of a variety of infections caused by gram-negative pathogens.
Application Notes (Clone): The binding characterization of this antibody was done using ELISA. This antibody in combination with an anti-omalizumab antibody E5 was used in the generation of a bispecific antibody for determination of allergy against the aztreonam antibiotic (PMID: 34931798).
