Antigen Long Description: The original antibody was generated by immunizing a mouse with a total protein extract of chicken gizzard.

Buffer Composition: PBS with 0.02% Proclin 300.

Available Custom Conjugation Options: AP, HRP, Fluorescein, APC, PE, Biotin Type A, Biotin Type B, Streptavidin, FluoroProbes 647H, Atto488, APC/Cy7, PE/Cy7

Specificity Statement: The original antibody is specific for cardiotin. Cardiotin is a mitochondrion-associated protein, which is present in cardiomyocytes and skeletal muscle.

Application Notes (Clone): The antibody could detect cardiotin on microsomal swine heart samples by western blot analysis (Schaart et al., 1997; PMID: 9042960). The antibody revealed cardiotin in the longitudinal sarcoplasmic reticulum in normal atrial myocardium of goats in sinus rhythm by immunofluorescence staining (Ausma et al., 1997; PMID: 9327732). The antibody recognized cardiotin in cardiomyocytes by immunocytochemistry (Dispersyn et al., 2001; PMID: 11470462). The antibody was employed in immunohistochemistry for the detection of cardiotin (Dispersyn et al., 2002; PMID: 12042006 and Ausma et al. 2001; PMID: 11735256).
