Antigen Long Description: The mouse version of this antibody was raised by immunizing a BALB/c mouse with milkfat globule membranes.

Buffer Composition: PBS with 0.02% Proclin 300.

Available Custom Conjugation Options: AP, HRP, Fluorescein, APC, PE, Biotin Type A, Biotin Type B, Streptavidin, FluoroProbes 647H, Atto488, APC/Cy7, PE/Cy7

Uniprot Accession No.: P15941

Specificity Statement: This antibody is specific for human CD227. The alpha subunit of CD227 has cell adhesive properties. It can act both as an adhesion and an anti-adhesion protein. May provide a protective layer on epithelial cells against bacterial and enzyme attack.

Application Notes (Clone): To characterize 13 different ovarian cancer xenografts, immunohistochemistry was performed different human ovarian cancer cell lines using the mouse version of this antibody. It only stained most tissues moderately (Molthoff et al, 1991; pmid:1985883). To determine whether the appearance of tumour-associated macin epitopes can be explained by altered post translational modification of mucin in tumours, flow cytometry was used on EBY-immortalized B-cells and Burkitt's lymphomas using the mouse version of this antibody (Jerome et al, 1992; pmid:1382849). To study three antigenic systems for their use as tumour toxins, a western blot was performed on the human mammary carcinoma cell line MBMDA-23 1 and the colon carcinoma cell line SW 1222 using the mouse version of this antibody (Wick and Groner, 1997; pmid:9459206).
