Antigen Long Description: The original antibody was generated by immunizing BALB/c mice with purified His tagged human BAFF protein.
Buffer Composition: PBS with 0.02% Proclin 300.
Available Custom Conjugation Options: AP, HRP, Fluorescein, APC, PE, Biotin Type A, Biotin Type B, Streptavidin, FluoroProbes 647H, Atto488, APC/Cy7, PE/Cy7
Uniprot Accession No.: Q9Y275
Specificity Statement: This antibody binds human BAFF protein and cross reacts with cynomolgus monkey BAFF protein and weakly reacts with mouse BLyS. B-cell-activating factor (BAFF/CD257) is a cytokine belonging to the tumour-necrosis factor (TNF) family. This cytokine binds to TNFRSF13B/TACI, TNFRSF17/BCMA, and TNFRSF13C/BAFF-R. BAFF is a survival factor for B cells that controls B-cell maturation. It is also involved in the stimulation of B- and T-cell function and the regulation of humoral immunity.
Application Notes (Clone): The binding affinity of the IgG version of this antibody for human BLyS-His protein was reported to be Kd= 0.3023 nM. The binding reactivity of this antibody for human, mouse and cynomolgus monkey BLyS protein was done using ELISA. This antibody does not show any cross reactivity with other members of the TNF family. In vitro, this antibody can block the binding between BLyS and its receptor and also inhibits the proliferation of mouse splenocytes stimulated by BLyS (WO2014139425).
