Antigen Long Description: The original antibody was isolated from an scFv phage display antibody library generated from variable genes (V gene) from the hybridoma cells CM2 and panning the library against CMV.

Chimeric Use Statement: This full-length chimeric rabbit antibody was made using the variable domain sequences of the original Mouse scFv format for improved compatibility with existing reagents assays and techniques.

Specificity Statement: This antibody binds the coat protein or the capsid protein of the Cucumber mosaic virus (CMV).

Application Notes (Clone): This antibody was derived from the parent antibody called CM2, after PCR cloning the variable region genes of the hybridoma to generate a phage display library and isolating the specific clone that showed reactivity towards CMV. The binding specificity of this antibody for CMV was determined using ELISA. The scFv antibody was also able to identify CMV coat protein in a western blot assay (Koohapitagtam et al., 2009).
