CloneID: 1B8
Antigen Long Description: The antibody was generated by immunizing Armenian hamsters with the extracellular portion of murine CTLA-4 fused to a murine IgG2.
Buffer Composition: PBS only.
Uniprot Accession No.: P09793
Specificity Statement: This antibody is specific for CTLA-4. CTLA-4 is an inhibitory receptor acting as a major negative regulator of T-cell responses. The affinity of CTLA4 for its natural B7 family ligands, CD80 and CD86, is considerably stronger than the affinity of their cognate stimulatory coreceptor CD28.
Application Notes (Clone): ELISA was preformed on murine CTLA-4lg to test the binding specificity of the anitbody (Walunas et al, 1994; pmid:7882171). For flow cytometry on A20, M12.41 (B cells), L cell (fibroblast), and P815 (mastocytoma) cells this antibody was used (Perkins et al, 1996; pmid:8666782). This antibody was used for blocking in mice. It prevented T-cell proliferation (Leach et al, 1996; pmid:8596936). Western blot was preformed on LN cells harvested from SJL mice using this antibody (Aruna et al, 2005; pmid:16014414). This antibody was used for flow cytometry on LN cells harvested from SJL mice (Aruna et al, 2005; pmid:16014414). Mouse CD4+ CD25+ T cells were used for a flow cytomic experiment using this antibody (Valsazina et al, 2006; pmid:16618776). Thymi from Tg4 CTLA-4WT and B10.PL mice were immunostained with this antibody (Verhagen et al, 2012; pmid:23267099). LN cells from mice were immunostained with this antibody (Paas-Rozner et al, 2003; pmid:12743364). Cultured CD4+CD25+ Tregs of mice were used in an flow cytometry experiment in which this antibody was used (Wang et al, 2010; pmid:20843956).
