CloneID: Clone 2
Antigen Long Description: The original antibody was isolated from a IgM-derived phage antibody library created from the peripheral blood lymphocytes of 20 non-immunized doners. The specific clone was isolated by panning the library against digoxigenin.
Buffer Composition: PBS only.
Chimeric Use Statement: This full-length reformatted human antibody was made using the variable domain sequences of the original Human scFv format for improved compatibility with existing reagents assays and techniques.
Specificity Statement: This antibody is specific for digoxigenin A. Digoxigenin (DIG) is a hydroxy steroid that consists of 5beta-cardanolide, found exclusively in the flowers and leaves of the plants Digitalis purpurea, Digitalis orientalis and Digitalis lanata. It is a hapten, a small molecule with high antigenicity, that is used in many molecular biology applications.
Application Notes (Clone): The binding specificity of this antibody for digoxigenin was checked using ELISA. This antibody was able to bind digoxigenin coupled by a methylcarbonyl (Dig-Met) or succinyl (Dig-Suc) type linker to BSA. The presence of Dig-dUTP conjugate resulted in competitive inhibition on binding of this antibody to digoxigenin coupled with methylcarbonyl (Dig-Met) liked to BSA (PMID: 9305722).
