CloneID: 5B4D-6
Antigen Long Description: The original antibody was generated by immunizing BALB/c mice with TC-83 vaccine strain of Venezuelan equine encephalomyelitis virus (VEEV).
Buffer Composition: PBS with 0.02% Proclin 300.
Available Custom Conjugation Options: AP, HRP, Fluorescein, APC, PE, Biotin Type A, Biotin Type B, Streptavidin, FluoroProbes 647H, Atto488, APC/Cy7, PE/Cy7
Uniprot Accession No.: P05674
Specificity Statement: This antibody specifically binds the E2a epitope of the envelope glycoprotein of the Venezuelan equine encephalitis virus (VEEV), member of the family Togaviridae, genus Alphavirus. VEEV is a mosquito-borne viral pathogen that causes Venezuelan equine encephalitis or encephalomyelitis (VEE). VEE is a disease endemic in regions of Central and South America that causes sporadic outbreaks of equine and human encephalitis. VEEV can affect equine species, such as horses, donkeys, and zebras.
Application Notes (Clone): The binding characterization of this antibody towards Venezuelan equine encephalomyelitis virus strain TC-83 was done using ELISA (PMID: 6178209). This antibody was also used for an indirect immunofluorescence assay for the detection of VEEV in virus-infected Vero cells (PMID: 2037683).
