CloneID: mAb 234
Antigen Long Description: The original antibody was generated by immunizing BALB/c mice with a combination of some or all of the following: intranasal infection with hMPV at 10^6 TCID50 per animal of either NL1700, NL100, or NL199; intranasal infection with 10^6 PFU b/hPIV3/hMPV FNL100; intraperitoneal injection with adenovirus-vectored hMPV FNL100 or hMPV FNL199 at a dose of 9 × 10^7 TCID50; purified soluble hMPV F protein derived from NL100 and NL199 sequences injected intraperitoneally with either GERBU MM adjuvant.
Buffer Composition: PBS with 0.02% Proclin 300.
Available Custom Conjugation Options: AP, HRP, Fluorescein, APC, PE, Biotin Type A, Biotin Type B, Streptavidin, FluoroProbes 647H, Atto488, APC/Cy7, PE/Cy7
Uniprot Accession No.: Q6WB98
Specificity Statement: This antibody recognizes the hMPV F protein in the helix-loop-helix motif within site II. Human metapneumovirus (hMPV) is a member of the Paramyxoviridae family/Pneumovirinae subfamily and shares many common features with respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), another member of the same subfamily. hMPV causes respiratory tract illnesses that, similar to human RSV, occur predominantly during the winter months and have symptoms that range from mild to severe cough, bronchiolitis, and pneumonia.
Application Notes (Clone): ELISA was used to confirm the binding of this antibody to hMPV F protein. This antibody has been reported to have high neutralizing activity against all of the hMPV types A1, A2, B1, and B2 with an in vitro IC50 of < 2µg/ml. The antibody is effective as passive prophylaxis, protecting hamsters and mice from hMPV challenge (PMID: 16873237).
