Antigen Long Description: The original antibody was generated by repeatedly immunizing BALB/c mice with live vaccine strain (LVS) and F. tularensis lipopolysaccharide admixed with CpG ODN 1826 (TCC ATG ACG TTC CTG ACG TT) (an oligodeoxynucleotide containing unmethylated CpG dinucleotides with fully phosphorothioate backbone.
Buffer Composition: PBS with 0.02% Proclin 300.
Chimeric Use Statement: This reformatted dog antibody was made using the variable domain sequences of the original Mouse IgA format, for improved compatibility with existing reagents, assays and techniques.

Specificity Statement: This antibody strongly binds the internal O-antigen (OAg) of the gram-negative bacterium Francisella tularensis (Ft).
Application Notes (Clone): This potent binder can be used to detect the O antigen of F. tularensis. The antigen specificity of this antibody was tested using ELISA. It is capable of binding to heat killed live vaccine strain and SchuS4 F. tularensis strains in an ELISA. This antibody was also capable of detecting the longer chains of the lipopolysaccharide ladder in a western blot assay (PMID: 21466282). Ab52 can be used as a reporter to monitor the response of vaccine recipients to protective B-cell epitopes of F. tularensis OAg (PMID: 22486311).
