Specificity Statement: This antibody is specific for the VP1 epitope of the foot-and-mouth disease virus.
Application Notes (Clone): The original antibody was used for an ELISA on foot and mouth disease C-S8c1. Further this antibody was used for a plaque reduction assay on FMDV (Mateu et al., 1987; PMID:2446442). The structure of this antibody was determined using cryo-EM (Hewat et al., 1997; PMID:9130694). This antibody fused with the Escherichia coli β-galactosidase enzyme was used for ELISA on its own epitope (Alcalá et al., 2003; PMID:12505169). This antibody was used for a dot blot on the FMDV VP1 G-H loop (Skamel et al., 2014; PMID:25393763).
