CloneID: IC8
Antigen Long Description: The original mouse antibody was generated by immunizing mice with human IL-1B protein. The humanized version was generated by grafting CDRs of the original mouse antibody onto human framework regions.
Buffer Composition: PBS with 0.02% Proclin 300.
Available Custom Conjugation Options: AP, HRP, Fluorescein, APC, PE, Biotin Type A, Biotin Type B, Streptavidin, FluoroProbes 647H, Atto488, APC/Cy7, PE/Cy7
Uniprot Accession No.: P01584
Specificity Statement: This antibody binds human Interleukin-1 beta, which is a potent pro-inflammatory cytokine. Initially discovered as the major endogenous pyrogen, induces prostaglandin synthesis, neutrophil influx and activation, T-cell activation and cytokine production, B-cell activation and antibody production, and fibroblast proliferation and collagen production. It promotes Th17 differentiation of T-cells and synergizes with IL12/interleukin-12 to induce IFNG synthesis from T-helper 1 (Th1) cells. It also plays a role in angiogenesis by inducing VEGF production synergistically with TNF and IL6.
Application Notes (Clone): This antibody is the humanized version of original mouse antibody IC8. This antibody binds human IL-1B with a binding affinity of Kd= 0.28 nM. The Fab version of this antibody was reported to neutralize IL-1B activity both in an in vitro and an in vivo assay (US7608694).
