CloneID: BBBB138

Antigen Long Description: The original antibody was isolated from a human phage display library by panning against IR.

Buffer Composition: PBS with 0.02% Proclin 300.

Available Custom Conjugation Options: AP, HRP, Fluorescein, APC, PE, Biotin Type A, Biotin Type B, Streptavidin, FluoroProbes 647H, Atto488, APC/Cy7, PE/Cy7

Uniprot Accession No.: P06213

Specificity Statement: The antibody is specific for the insulin receptor. The antibody recognises both short isoform (IR-A) and a long isoform (IR-B). The epitope of the antibody does not overlap with the insulin binding site.

Application Notes (Clone): The specificity of the antibody for IR was determined by ELISA analysis. The binding affinity of the antibody to IR-A and IR-B was measured by surface plasmon resonance (Kd= 2.57 and 2.98 nM respectively). The antibody blocked insulin induced IR phosphorylation in a dose-dependent manner on HuH7 cells. The antibody effectively decreased insulin induced glucose uptake at concentrations of 1 nM and 10 nM in vitro. The antibody induced hyperglycemia in C57 mice in in vivo experiments.
