CloneID: 54.2.8
Antigen Long Description: The original antibody was generated by immunizing BALB/c BYJ mice with streptococcal M type 5 membranes followed by a second, boosting dose of M type 5 streptococcal membranes.
Origin Pub PMID: 11282394
Buffer Composition: PBS only.
Uniprot Accession No.: P02977
Specificity Statement: This antibody reacts with α-helical molecules and is anti-nuclear (binds DNA). Specifically, it binds streptococcal M-protein (type 5), human myosin, keratin, DNA, vimentin, tropomyosin, troponin, ganglioside, and glycophorin M,N.
Application Notes (Clone): This antibody reacts with rabbit myosin, as shown in a WB. This antibody reacts with M type 5 membrane proteins and human heart cell extract, as shown in an ELISA (Krisher et al., 1985; PMID: 2578225). This antibody reacts with the heavy chain of cardiac myosin. Specifically, it reacts with both heavy and light meromyosin fragments, as shown in WB and competitive inhibition assays (Cunningham et al., 1986; PMID: 3510006). This antibody stains the nuclei and cytoplasm of cells within the epidermis and epidermal appendages, as well as cells scattered throughout the dermis in normal and psoriatic skin, as shown by immunofluorescent staining (Swerlick et al., 1986; PMID: 3525693). This antibody binds CV (B3), as shown in an ELISA; neutralizes PV-1 and CV (B3), as shown in a plaque-reduction neutralization assay; and is moderately cytotoxic to rat fibroblasts, as shown in a cytotoxicity assay (Cunningham et al., 1992; PMID: 1311095). This antibody reacted with retinal S-antigen (S-Ag) in an ELISA (Lerner et al., 1995; PMID: 8722579). This antibody binds myosin at a high relative avidity, as determined in a competitive ELISA. Reactivity with glycophorin M and N was determined by hemagglutination assay (Mertens et al., 2000; PMID: 11282394).
