Specificity Statement: This antibody is specific for a conformational epitope covering amino acids 266–297 and 339–365.

Application Notes (Clone): The fab version of this antibody was used a neutralization assay, in short both a pre- and post-virus attachment assay was performed on 293TT cells with pseudo virus. The structure of this antibody was determined using cryo-EM (Guan et al., 2015; PMID:25996608). This antibody was used for surface plasmon resonance on virus like particles (Towne et al., 2013; PMID:23159495). This antibody was used for an ELISA on HPV-16 L1wt VLPs. This antibody was used for a neutralization assay on HPV-16 pseudo virions, in short the antibody was incubated with HPV-16 pseudo virions, then an attempt was made to infect cervical carcinoma C33A cells with the mixture. This antibody showed some neutralization (Christensen et al., 2001; PMID:11878901).
