Antigen Long Description: The original antibody was generated by immunization of Llama glama with mCherry fluorescent protein. A VHH cDNA library was generated by high-throughput DNA sequencing of a marrow lymphocyte from an immunized llama. Later on this was combined with mass spectrometric (MS) identification of high affinity VHH regions derived from serum of the same animal.

Specificity Statement: This antibody binds mCherry and can also bind DsRed and tdTomato, which is a tandem dimer of mCherry.
Application Notes (Clone): This antibody reacts with mCherry and also recognizes dsRed2, and tdTomato. This antibody binds immobilized mCherry with a binding affinity of Kd= 0.26 nM (PMID: 25362362).
