Application Notes (Clone): The original version of this antibody was used for ELISA on NCI-H292 human pulmonary mucoepidermoid cells (Baginski et al., 2006; PMID:16543607), on BAL fluid (bronchoalveolar lavage fluid) (Phillips et al., 2006; PMID:16507438), and on different fractions of corpus tissue (Nordman et al., 2002; PMID:11988092). This antibody was also used for flow cytometry on human lung cells (Weeden et al., 2017; PMID:28125611), and on H292 cells (Montalbano et al., 2014; PMID:24797786). It was able to stain MUC5AC in both experiments. This antibody was able to stain passage 2 normal human tracheobronchial epithelial (NHTBE) cells for immunofluorescence, it was able to determine MUC5AC production during this experiment (Gray et al., 2004; PMID:14527933). The antibody was also used to stain HT29–18N2 goblet cells in a immunocytochemistry experiment, showing staining of the intracellular mucin stores (Stanley and Phillips., 1999; PMID:10409167). Immunoprecipitation on a mucin solution was performed using this antibody, allowing MUC5AC to be separated from the solution (Round et al., 2007; PMID:17356062). Finally, this antibody was used for a western blot on different recombinant versions of the MUC-5AC protein. showing that it bound specifically to the C-terminus of MUC-5AC (Lidell et al., 2008; PMID:18167142).
