CloneID: 1N8
Antigen Long Description: The original antibody was generated by cloning the variable region sequences of the heavy and light chains of the mouse antibody and recombinantly expressing it in E. coli.
Origin Pub PMID: 26301925
Buffer Composition: PBS with 0.02% Proclin 300.
Chimeric Use Statement: This full-length chimeric rabbit antibody was made using the variable domain sequences of the original Mouse scFv format for improved compatibility with existing reagents assays and techniques.
Available Custom Conjugation Options: AP, HRP, Fluorescein, APC, PE, Biotin Type A, Biotin Type B, Streptavidin, FluoroProbes 647H, Atto488, APC/Cy7, PE/Cy7
Uniprot Accession No.: P04865
Specificity Statement: This antibody bind an epitope between amino acids 277-471 of protein N of canine distemper virus (CDV). The minimal linear epitope that can be recognized by 1N8 was narrowed down to amino acids 350 LNFGRSYFDPA 360 of the N protein. Canine distemper is a viral disease caused by CDV that attacks the respiratory, gastrointestinal and nervous systems of puppies and dogs. The virus can also be found in wildlife such as foxes, wolves, coyotes, raccoons, skunks, mink and ferrets and has been reported in lions, tigers, leopards and other wild cats as well as seals.
Application Notes (Clone): This antibody can bind protein N of canine distemper virus in a western blot. Indirect immunofluorescence assay demonstrated that they could recognize native N protein in CDV-infected Vero cells (PMID: 24555938). The antigen binding affinity of the scFv antibody was done using ELISA (PMID: 26301925). Alignment analysis of the amino acid sequences indicated that the epitope that this antibody binds is highly conserved among CDV strains (PMID: 26514066).
