Antigen Long Description: A naive antibody library was constructed from convalescent SARS patient lymphocyte using phage display technology. The original antibody was then isolated by panning the library on purified SARS virions.

Specificity Statement: The antibody is specific for the SARS-CoV spike protein.
Application Notes (Clone): The specificity of this antibody (Fab) was confirmed in ELISA analysis. The antibody detected the SARS-CoV S protein by western blot analysis. The clone was converted into human IgG1 and its neutralizing activity was determined. Both Fab and IgG1 antibodies showed significant neutralizing activities in cytopathic effect (CPE) inhibition neutralization test, the antibodies were able to completely neutralize the SARS virus and protect the Vero cells from CPE after virus infection (Liang et al, 2005; PMID:16544518).
