Antigen Long Description: The original antibody was isolated from an scFv phage display library generated from the pool of normal human B cells from 40 blood donors. The particular antibody was isolated by panning the library against human VASA-1 peptide (amino acids 712-721). Later on the scFv antibody was converted to an IgG.
Buffer Composition: PBS only.
Chimeric Use Statement: This chimeric mouse antibody was made using the variable domain sequences of the original Human IgG1 format, for improved compatibility with existing reagents, assays and techniques.
Uniprot Accession No.: Q9NQI0
Specificity Statement: This antibody is specific for the C-terminal domain of human VASA protein. The binding epitope comprises amino acids 712-721 (SQAPNPVDDE) of the human VASA protein. VASA homolog is also known as ATP-dependent RNA helicase DDX4, which is required during spermatogenesis. VASA protein is present in fetal and adult gonadal germ cells in both males and females and is most abundant in spermatocytes and mature oocytes.
Application Notes (Clone): The binding characterization of this antibody to human VASA protein and VASA peptides (residues 700-724; residues 712-721; residues 700-709) was done using ELISA. It was found that this antibody was specific for VASA peptide with residues 712-721. The IgG antibody binds human VASA protein in a dose dependent manner with an EC50 of 0.08919 nM (US20180155445).
