CloneID: F24G2
Antigen Long Description: The original antibody was generated by immunizing BALB/c mice with recombinant FMDV A24 cruzeiro VP1 protein in an equal part of complete Freund’s Adjuvant.
Buffer Composition: PBS with 0.02% Proclin 300.
Available Custom Conjugation Options: AP, HRP, Fluorescein, APC, PE, Biotin Type A, Biotin Type B, Streptavidin, FluoroProbes 647H, Atto488, APC/Cy7, PE/Cy7
Uniprot Accession No.: P03309
Specificity Statement: This antibody recognizes a trypsin sensitive, linear, heat stable epitope of the capsid protein VP1 protein of the foot-and-mouth disease virus (FMDV). FMDV is a picornavirus, the prototypical member of the genus Aphthovirus. FMDV causes a mild, contagious viral infection common in young children characterized by vesicles (blisters) or sores in the mouth and a rash on the hands and feet. It can also affect cattle, pigs, sheep, goats, and other cloven-hoofed animals.
Application Notes (Clone): This antibody can successfully recognize and capture 24 Cruzeiro and Asia I FMD virus specifically in ELISA using whole virus. This antibody was also reported to neutralize the infectivity of A24 serotype in vitro. This antibody can recognize recombinant AVP1 protein but failed to react with trypsin-treated TT-AVP1, CVP1, and OVP1 in a western blot (Bratic, 2005).
