Clone: FLG01.

Background: Antibody FLG01 is well suited for the detection of natural Filaggrin in immunohistochemistry. It is important to note, that some mutants may be undetectable due to sequence shifting. Filaggrins are a class of proteins, which are associated with intermediary filaments (keratins) in the differentiated epidermis of mammals. In a screening procedure for the reasons of innate pre-disposition of different skin diseases, rheumatoid arthritis, and asthma mutations were detected in gene (1q21). This gene encodes for Filaggrins. S.c. Loss-of-Function-Variants of the gene are associated with a severe form of Ichthyosis vulgaris (Fish scale disease), atopic dermatitis, eczema and asthma. In psoriasis the immunohistochemical staining pattern is changed, but the relation to the common European mutations of 1q21 has not been secured. Human Filaggrin 38 kDa and Pro-Filaggrin (app. 400 kDa).

Positive Control: Human skin, placenta or lens capsule.

Immunogen: Recombinant human Filaggrin.

Purification Method: Protein G purified antibody in PBS pH 7.3 containing BSA and NaN3 (0.09%).

Concentration: 50 µg/ml.
