Assay Conditions: One million Claudin-18 Isoform 2 CHO cells (#78533) were blocked and stained with 1 µg of FluoSite™ Anti-Claudin-18 Isoform 2 Antibody, APC-Labeled (#102802) for 30 minutes on ice, washed three times, and analyzed by flow cytometry. Claudin-18 Isoform 2 CHO cells (green) were compared to parental CHO-K1 cells (blue). Y-axis is the cell count. X-axis is APC intensity.
Background: Claudins are integral membrane proteins and components of tight junctions. The claudin-18 gene has two splice variants: claudin-18.1, which is found primarily in the lung, and claudin-18.2, which is expressed exclusively in the stomach. Claudin-18.2 is highly expressed in gastric and pancreatic adenocarcinoma and may be involved in tumor development and progression. It is an ideal target for therapy and effort has been put into the development of monoclonal antibodies against claudin 18.2, such as Zolbetuximab. Studies of claudin-18.2 function and expression patterns will continue to broaden our knowledge and application in cancer therapy.
Cross Reactivity: This antibody recognizes human CLDN 18.2. It has not been tested with other species.
