CloneID: AFP01
Antigen Long Description: The original antibody was generated by immunizing healthy 6-8 week old BALB/c mice with human alpha-fetoprotein.
Buffer Composition: PBS with 0.02% Proclin 300.
Chimeric Use Statement: This chimeric rabbit antibody was made using the variable domain sequences of the original Mouse IgM format for improved compatibility with existing reagents assays and techniques.
Available Custom Conjugation Options: AP, HRP, Fluorescein, APC, PE, Biotin Type A, Biotin Type B, Streptavidin, FluoroProbes 647H, Atto488, APC/Cy7, PE/Cy7
Uniprot Accession No.: P02771
Specificity Statement: This antibody binds human alpha-fetoprotein (AFP). AFP is made in the liver of developing babies. It binds copper, nickel, and fatty acids as well as, and bilirubin less well than, serum albumin. AFP levels in healthy adults is very low. Elevated levels of AFP in adult human blood is a marker for cancer.
Application Notes (Clone): This antibody is capable of binding human alpha-fetoprotein and can recognize human HepG2 hepatoma cells in an immunofluorescence staining. The additional binding characterization of this antibody for human alpha fetoprotein was done using ELISA. This antibody has a wide detection range, high sensitivity with detecting concentration of hAFP in the range of 2 ~ 400ng / mL, the detection limit is 2ng / mL. (CN108484762).
